I've been busy making this weekend.

Brand new in store today are my gorgeous Clarke and Clarke Quadrille Smoke cushion covers available with button fastening or zip fastening. I love this fabric and the colouway is bang on trend this season. The background is light charcoal and off white and the print in pale turquoise, citrine and deep blue grey really stands out. Love this fabric!

And never one to waste the tiniest scrap of fabric, I've made use of the leftovers from my hugely popular cushion covers to make this John Lewis Connections bunting garland. The retro 1950s style geometric print and the yellow ochre colourway make a fantastic combination. This garland would look brilliant in your kitchen or dining room. Grab it while you can...

What do you do on a rainy Saturday when you haven't made any plans, you don't need to be anywhere and you've got the day to yourself? Well I thought I'd give myself a challenge this weekend and try my hand at dressmaking.

This is a brand new venture for me. I've made all sorts of home furnishings and artwork but I've never tried my hand at making clothes, apart from knitting. So with my birthday gift voucher in hand, off I went to John Lewis to buy a pattern.

I decided on a 1960s vintage dress pattern (well I would, wouldn't I?) as I had some of my gorgeous vintage linen rose fabric left over.And I must say, I'm really pleased with the results.

The best thing is knowing I have created something unique. I fiddled with the pattern to change the neckline so it really is my own. And it fits perfectly, unlike anything off the peg. I think I may have found a new obesession...

So to all of you potential crafters out there, follow my lead and try something new. You might just surprise yourself!

Hi there, nice to see you! Welcome to my new website blog. Those of you who know me will have seen my blogs on blogger and wordpress already. I've added this page too so that I make sure everyone can see what I'm up to and take advantage of special offers and new items.

Today's post is all about CRAFTfest

There's only one week left to book your stall at summer CRAFTfest.

Just in case you've been hiding for a while and wondering what CRAFTfest is, here's a quick guide:

1. CRAFTfest is a virtual craft fair hosted online at Creative Connections.
2. It's for crafters of all types, making and selling their own handcrafted goods
3. The fair is online 24/7 from 29th June until 6th July
4. Stalls cost just £5.00 for the whole week if you set up yourself. There are other options available if you would like us to set up for you.
5. CRAFTfest is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work, with promotion activities taking place all week
6. It's a great place to meet fellow crafters, share experiences and learn new skills.

Why not take the plunge and give it a go? You only need to have four items or more available to sell to take part so it's a great starting point if you've only just been bitten by the crafting bug.
